Maple-Glazed Doughnut Bundt Cake

Ingredients
Cake:
3 cups Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Butter
1 cup Sugar
4 Egg Yolks
1/4 cup Sour Cream
1 1/2 teaspoons Maple Extract
1 cup Buttermilk
4 Egg Whites
1/2 cup Sugar
3 tablespoons Maple Syrup
1 tablespoon Water, warm
Glaze:
3 tablespoons Maple Syrup,
1 teaspoon Maple Extract,
1 cup Icing Sugar.
Instructions
Cake:
Mix the first 4 ingredients and set aside.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Beat in 1 egg yolk at a time.
Mix in the sour cream and maple extract.
To this mixture, alternate adding the flour mixture and the buttermilk, starting and ending with the flour (3:2).
Whip egg whites until at soft peaks and then add all the sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, until firm glossy peaks form. Fold 1/3 of this into the cake batter, then the remainder.
Bake in a greased and floured 10-inch bundt pan at 350F/176C for 40-50 minutes.
Cool 20 minutes before loosening, turning out onto a rack, and brushing all over with the syrup/water mixture.
Glaze:
Mix together and drizzle over cool cake.
