Pecan Pie Bread Pudding

Rich, warm, and deeply comforting, this pecan pie bread pudding combines the gooey sweetness of pecan pie with the soft, custardy texture of classic bread pudding. Ingredients
6 Eggs
3 3/4 cups Milk
1 1/2 cups Carnation Milk
1 1/2 cups Sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons Vanilla
1/4 teaspoon Salt
24 ounces Bread*, cubed
3/4 cup Butter, softened
2 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
1 1/2 cups Pecans, chopped
Instructions
Beat the first 6 ingredients together and pour over the bread cubes.
Set aside for 5 to 10 minutes.
With a fork, mix together the butter and brown sugar, and then stir in the nuts.
Spread half of the bread mixture into a greased 9 by 13 pan.
Top with half of the nut mixture. Repeat.
Press it all down slightly. The pan will be quite full.
Place pan on a cookie sheet and bake at 350F/180C for 45-55 minutes.
Center may be wiggly but will set when it cools.
*Day old French bread will work best.
